Adult & Older Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Care Principles and Practice

Catalog description

This course will focus on evidence-based management of adult and older adult psychiatric mental health disorders. Students will synthesize and translate knowledge from nursing and other disciplines as a framework for clinical judgement, evidence-based practice, and ethical decision making in caring for older adults in a family nurse practitioner role. Students will complete 200 hours of direct care clinical under the supervision of qualified clinical preceptors and nursing faculty to achieve entry level clinical competency in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner role.
