Field Practicum for Talent Development
Ashland University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This field practicum emphasizes the application of knowledge gained in the Talent Development program. This is a 2-semester hour practicum experience where students must log 90 clock hours, 50 directly with identified gifted students. Candidates select instructional strategies and technologies that create meaningful learning experiences for all talented students and explain how their choices reflect a thorough understanding of the school, family, and community contexts in which they work. They implement those instructional strategies, and then utilize self-reflection and the analysis of student performance data to make data-driven decisions about strategies for teaching and learning. Students compile and share their program Resource Notebook with the instructor.
