Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Practicum

Catalog description

This practicum provides candidates with a supervised, field-based experience of a minimum of 40 hours focused on supporting English language learners (ELLs) in K-12 classroom settings. Emphasis isplaced on assessing ELLs for their linguistic, academic, and cultural needs; designing and implementing instruction aligned with TESOL principles; and reflecting on instructional effectiveness and professional practice. Candidates engage in guided practice that connects theory to classroom instruction while developing skills in collaboration, assessment, and responsive teaching for ELLs.
