Catalog description

This course explores the principles and practices of communicating complex scientific information to audiences interested in scientific discoveries. Students will learn how science communicators collaborate with scientists, journalists, policymakers, and community members and develop messaging that improves understanding of scientific issues, influences salience of critical topics, and manages controversy. The course will equip students with skills to engage target audiences and select appropriate channels for advocacy, journalism, organizational communication, and public presentations.
