Catalog description

This course examines development of living organisms, with primary emphasis on vertebrate animal development, but including important developmental concepts related to invertebrate animals and to flowering plants. Study includes reproductive anatomy and physiology, morphology, cell fate, potency and determination, genomic equivalence, developmental regulation, cellular differentiation, the roles of Hox genes and apoptosis in development, and pattern formation.
