Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the elements and principles of print design systems. The focus will be on organizing and integrating type and images into visually compelling layouts for affective communication across variable print-based media. Concept development, client base, and production procedures will be covered. Discussion of design theory will address the principles behind successful visual communication. The class will serve as an introduction to topics such as client branding, interpreting market research, message targeting for demographic groups, and product packaging concepts.
