Catalog description

This course is an introduction of the common conditions of mental illness, prevention and wellness of such conditions, and care of clients suffering from abnormal mental and emotional responses. The course will offer exploration of mental health across the lifespan, focusing on both pediatric and adult populations. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely care for mentally ill client. The clinical experience will give the student an opportunity to continue the application of utilizing the nursing process to the clients in facilities. Prerequisite: Admissions to the PN Program.
