Catalog description

This course builds upon previous instruction and incorporates higher level nursing care, critical thinking, and clinical decision making. Management and leadership are strongly incorporated throughout this course. The student will learn basic care methodology for clients in emergency (including bioterrorism preparedness) and surgical care settings. Concepts of holism, human needs, growth and development, communications, safety, and wellness-illness across the life span are incorporated. Included in the course is a pharmacology and mathematics review. Foundational information that is essential for accurate dosage calculations and safe medication administration will be reviewed. Clinical experience continues to build upon previous instruction and allows the student to deliver higher level nursing care and demonstrate management and leadership skills. Prerequisite and Corequisites: Successful Completion of all First Second Semester RNUR Courses.
