Catalog description

This course is designed to give the student a solid foundation in arithmetic, basic algebra, and problem-solving skills in preparation for Quantitative Literacy/non-STEM major. Topics include fractions, decimals, ration/proportion, percents, integers, simplifying expressions, solving and graphing linear equations. STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. Placement based on entrance exam score.
