Catalog description
This course introduces the non-electronics student to the basic concepts of DC and AC electricity. All topics of DC circuits are covered, including current flow, voltage, power and resistance, Ohms Law, complex circuits, and magnetism. In AC, coils, capacitors, transformers, and their associated formulae are introduced. Three-phase voltage is also discussed. This course will enable students to gain an understanding of the essentials of electricity and electrical power. Prerequisite: MATH1033 Foundations of Math I
