Catalog description
This course is the second semester of a two semester sequence. This course emphasizes the anatomy and physiology of the human organism with reference to health related topics. The following topics will be discussed: endocrine system, the cardiovascular system (including blood, blood vessels, and the heart), the lymphatic system, the immune system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system and the reproductive system. Nutrition, metabolism, and temperature regulation fluid, electrolyte and acid base balance pregnancy and human development and heredity will be discussed. Laboratory exercises will be provided to demonstrate and reinforce the principles of anatomy and physiology. This course cannot be used for credit toward a biology major or minor. Prerequisite: Anatomy and Physiology I (BIOL24004) with a C or better.
