Catalog description

This Career Center course is an introduction to automotive brakes and manual drive trains. Students will learn the principles, testing, diagnosis, and repair of various types of brakes, including hydraulic and power brakes, disc and drum brakes, and ABS systems. Students will also learn the basic fundamentals of manual transmissions, transaxles, and clutches. The foundation of this course begins with safety, tool identification and usage, and career basics. Students will be required to demonstrate proficiency by completing all ASE MLR tasks for Brakes, Manual Drive Train, and related supplemental tasks in the lab.
