Nursing Process III

Catalog description
This course builds upon the previous instruction and incorporates higher-level nursing care, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making. Management and leadership are strongly incorporated throughout this course. The student will learn to function in higher-level situations by utilizing the nursing process as a framework for caring for clients with complex healthcare needs related to all body systems. The student will experience basic care methodology for clients in an emergency (including bioterrorism preparedness), critical care, surgical, acute , and long-term care settings. Advanced pharmacological concepts are also integrated into this course. Concepts of holism, human needs, growth and development, communications, safety, and wellness-illness across the life span are incorporated. Corequisites: RNSG2511 NCLEX-RN Preparation, RNSG2523 Nursing Practicum III (8 hour/week lecture). Prerequisites: RNSG2119 Nursing Process I, RNSG2216 Nursing Process II, RNSG2413 Nursing Practicum II, RNSG2123 Nursing Practicum I.
