Catalog description

Algebra-based chemistry course applicable for chemistry and other science majors, and pre- professional students. This is the first course of a two-course sequence. Course content provides a foundation for work in advanced chemistry and related sciences. The course includes in-depth study of nomenclature, atomic and molecular structure, stoichiometry, bonding, and reactions. Lab required. This is an algebra- based chemistry course and it is strongly recommended that the student should have completed Intermediate Algebra with a “C” or better. Prerequisite: MATH1023 College Algebra. ACTS Equivalency: CHEM1414 Chemistry I for Science Majors.
