Sem. Hrs: 3 The Special Education MAT K-12 Residency I requires supervised and directed experience in teaching students with disabilities in grades 1-12. Must be a teacher of record for Residency. May take one program course along with Residency I. Special Education MAT K-12 Prerequisites: ELSE 5003 SPED Academy ELSE 6183 Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder ELSE 5043 Assessment and Instruction for Expetional Learners ELSE 5653 Literacy and Language Development for Exceptional Learners ELSE 5633 Literacy Assessment and DX of Exceptional Learners ELSE 6053 Advanced Methods of Teaching Students with Mild/Moderate Disabilities ELSE 6073 Advanced Teaching Methods of Significant Disabled ELSE 6243 Due Process in SPED ELSE 6163 Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports Candidates must be Teacher of Record.
