Sem. Hrs: 3 An overview of historical, contemporary, clinical, and training issues in the practice of clinical mental health counseling. The course provides information related to the following aspects of clinical mental health counseling practice: (a) professional roles and responsibilities; (b) professional organizations; (c) state and national credentialing; and (d) counselor advocacy and self-care. The student must be admitted into an appropriate graduate counseling program.
