Takes the view of the CEO or General Manager and addresses the question of why and how some firms clearly outperform others. Firm performance therefore lies at the core of the course and how firms use their resources (assets, competencies and capabilities) and adapt to their environments to compete against rivals in the marketplace. As such, in corporate contexts, this course refers to the set of actions top management takes to achieve superior firm performance by creating sustainable competitive advantage.
