Catalog description

Capstone course. Students complete a design project that demonstrates mastery of landscape architecture skills and knowledge. Requires some independent direction. The instructor determines deadlines and expectations for deliverables. Requires cooperation and collaboration between students. Design performance is the themed topic and focus. Students develop a complex design project that addresses a significant professional issue. The project explores and demonstrates how advanced design resolves that issue in a performative manner using evidence-based practices and performance-based metrics. Studio-based course includes reading, presentations by faculty and students, discussion, design research, conceptual design practice, and the public exhibition/presentation of this work in multiple formats.
