Catalog description

Advanced graduate-level studio in landscape ecological planning at the urban and regional scale. Students engage in evidence-based design, collecting and applying ecological, cultural and climatic data to create resilient and sustainable urban systems. Emphasizes application of research and co-design with community partners, addressing pressing issues such as climate adaptation, biodiversity, shade equity, water and green infrastructure, and social justice. Studio projects intentionally link theory, empirical analysis and applied design, integrating ecological research, fieldwork and site-specific interventions to test design outcomes at multiple scales.
