Catalog description

Focuses on the fundamental knowledge of Korean intercultural values and communication. Explores and analyzes Korean communication styles and patterns in regard to the relationship between language use in cross-cultural communication, social meaning and cultural motivations. While the main focus is on Korean language, course is conducted in a comparative and interdisciplinary manner on how communicative strategies differ between Korea and other countries (such as China, Japan and the U.S.) due to underlying differences in their cultural values.
