Examines the influence of Japanese thoughts on value, culture and society while surveying the major religious and philosophical traditions in both pre-modern and modern Japan focusing on Shinto, Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism and New Religions. Classes consist of lectures, documentary films and discussion sessions. Taught in English.
