Catalog description

New product development with emphasis on design research, problem solving and functional/aesthetic development. Preliminary research about human behavior and health promotion. Based on the research findings, students conduct design research in teams and work on individual design projects. Student project results include evidence of concept development (sketches, drawings, models); functional development; human factors and ergonomic considerations; materials and process specifications; sustainability recommendations; and final appearance visual materials and models (virtual and physical). Project-based course includes readings, presentations, critical analysis, discussion, and the public exhibition and presentation of design work.
