A comprehensive introduction to computer and information technology architectures. Provides a detailed understanding of computer architecture, system software and network architecture, including the relationships among these IT-related entities. Forms a technical foundation for understanding current IT-related technologies and how they work as an integrated system. Begins with the historical study of computing and networks and progresses through computer and networking architecture. Topics include principles of a computer's physical and operating system architecture and its relationship to a network's architecture, including hardware and software functionalities.
