Catalog description

This interdisciplinary course explores how music and the general subjects of sound, noise, silence, hearing/listening are approached interdisciplinarily through the arts, humanities and sciences. In contemporary scholarship, the study of music crosses different academic fields and disciplines, including: musicology and music history, sociology and anthropology, cultural studies, religion, psychology, biology, ecology, neuroscience, mathematics, physics, technology and engineering, business and economics, philosophy, and aesthetics.
