Foreign Policy and National Security Law

Catalog description

Focuses on the intersection of foreign policy decision making and certain federal and international laws that govern national security issues confronting the United States. Students study official national security strategy, several international treaties and federal laws relating to foreign policy and national security, deterrence strategies, double standards in U.S. foreign and national security policies, and the War Powers Resolution. Students prepare individual oral briefings aimed toward senior government officials on U.S. foreign policy issues and national security law relating to several key countries.
