Current perspectives and techniques for modeling human-automation interaction to improve system design and system integration. Topics discussed include basic principles in human-technology interaction, key concepts to consider when designing and assessing supervisory control automation, and promising approaches for integrating increasingly autonomous automation, such as adaptive algorithms and embodied agents, into human systems.
