Cybersecurity Threats and Trends

Provides an overview of cybersecurity threats and trends. Each week presents a set of readings related to particular themes including: an overview of hacking and data breaches; special challenges and risks associated with protecting critical infrastructure on a state and federal level; and the complex, global threats posed by cybercrime. Also explores the risks associated with rapidly expanding social media and interconnectedness currently and into the future as well as providing an overview of key legal and ethical issues associated with cybersecurity policy. Provides a general overview of these issues in an effort to outline major issues regarding cybersecurity threats and how to best think about their impact on global security. Assists students in developing a strong conceptual foundation for engaging these issues and their broad policy implications.
