Intercultural Communicative Competence

Catalog description

Focuses on the importance of culture(s) and the ways in which culture(s) effects and interrelates with communication. Communicating across cultures is very important in order for us to be able to function in a globalized, diverse world, e.g., workplace, city. Using our own experiences and discussions as well as the readings, course increases our sensitivity, understanding and awareness of our own culture(s) as well as other culture(s). Approaches the study of intercultural communicative competence in a theoretical and practical way.
