On completing the Basic 1 Reading/Writing course, a student will be able to (1) recognize main ideas and find supporting details in selected reading passages of a few pages; and (2) produce a guided writing with a personal point of view, demonstrating level-appropriate control of grammar, word forms, and punctuation.
