Covers the original sustainable craft of authentic, handmade bespoke tailoring, aligned with Savile Row, London, apprenticeships. The craft has been practiced for many centuries throughout Europe--on Savile Row in London, in Milan and in Paris, haute couture. Teaches the difference between ready-to-wear and made-to-measure tailoring and authentic bespoke tailoring; studies the origins of bespoke tailoring and its unique craft. Students learn the necessary skills to design, cut and construct bespoke-tailored garments. Introduces the history, tools, cloth/trimmings, design details, key hand stitches and pockets that need to be mastered, and trains the hand and fingers through repetition of methods in practice.
