Catalog description

In this studio setting, students practice drawing the fashion figure from a live model, both in leotard and in clothing, facilitating understanding of drape, shape, shadow, silhouette and how it relates to fashion design. Demonstrates and practices fundamental skills of visual communication and problem solving, including fabric rendering and proportion and how it relates to the fashion designer's sketch. Brief lectures, demos and critiques are an integral component of each class. Materials used in class include, yet are not limited to, charcoal and gouache.
