Catalog description

Focuses on exploring basic chemical principles to understand reactions in the environment, fate and transport of chemicals in water, soil, air and living organisms. Considers major environmental issues in three areas: energy use and sustainable options to fossil fuels; atmospheric pollution including photochemical smog, ozone depleting substances, acid rain and climate change; and water pollution and water management options. Course is divided in three thematic parts: (1) energy, (2) atmosphere and (3) water.
