Catalog description

Examines the functioning of the earth system and how it has changed over long and short time scales. Emphasizes understanding global processes and how human activities can disrupt these processes, changing the ability of our global environment to support life. Also emphasizes important feedbacks between biological and physical processes and their effects on the biosphere. Discusses the response of natural and managed ecosystems to global change along with prospects for the future.
