Catalog description

First of a two-semester sequence of synthesis courses intended to be integrative, based on design research and inquiry. Serves as a culminating experience where, through the successful completion of an environmental design research project/application or experience, students demonstrate their understanding and synthesis of the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the program. Students identify a relevant research problem in environmental design and undertake the necessary literature search and reading regarding theories and methods related to the selected research question. Emphasizes the use of visual methods as a method of inquiry and research.
