Catalog description

Focuses on the students' individual application of Afro-Latin salsa/mambo technique at an advanced level. Specific to undergraduate students who have completed previous coursework and are ready to focus on individual research, investigation and critique in Afro-Latin movement practices. With an expected advanced understanding of Afro-Latin rhythms and social partnerwork vocabulary, students synthesize past knowledge in previous courses and begin framing questions on areas of expertise to work in an Afro-Latin centric process that leads toward a finding, performance or finished/unfinished work.
