Catalog description

Laboratory for somatic education that engages students in the theoretical and guided practical study of somatic movement practices. Facilitates students in exploring and addressing personal movement concerns and identifying areas for growth while expanding student understanding of the diversity of approaches to somatic studies. Focuses on body awareness, holding patterns, and movement re-education through various somatic practices drawn from Bartenieff Fundamentals, Body-Mind Centering, ideokinesis, Laban Movement Analysis, Dynamic Embodiment and other related somatic constructs.
