Contemporary Ballet III

Catalog description

Advanced level for contemporary ballet furthers the study of ballet with a contemporary lens, allowing the dancer to develop and hone the relationship between the somatic experience and the ballet tradition. Employs further investigation of concepts as students continue to apply physical learning to deepen their understanding of the history and theory of contemporary ballet. Written work expands students' contextual understanding of ballet's most current choreographers and happenings. Faculty assess students' abilities within the first week of class to ensure this course is a good fit.
