Catalog description

Survey of data science tools applied to environmental topics including climate change, energy, agriculture and ecology, using both Python and R (emphasis on Python). Introduces fundamentals of climate science, carbon accounting and environmental footprint analysis using datasets available through the U.S. EPA, USDA, Energy Information Administration and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Emphasizes data acquisition using RESTful APIs and Python. Additional emphasis on visualization and exploration of geospatial data, including both vector and raster datasets. Recommend working knowledge of Python and R.
