Focuses on communities and draws on an interdisciplinary lens to orient students to the foundations of community development. Presents a holistic approach to communities as complex systems with the goal of addressing ecological, economic, social, cultural and political dimensions that play a vital role in decision making. Provides effective tools with which to engage various stakeholders (e.g., government, private, nonprofit, community). Framed within the theoretical context of social justice and community well-being.
