Communication and the Art of Happiness

Catalog description

Examines how communication behaviors relate to constructing happiness and wellbeing. Topics include gratitude, forgiveness, social support, appreciation, social networks and communicative contagion of mood intersecting with issues of dyadic, group and organizational communication. Auxiliary readings come from a variety of disciplines, including psychology, management, sociology, positive organizational scholarship and appreciative inquiry. Course activities include reading, field exercises, journal writing, exams, project presentation(s) and paper(s).
