Catalog description

First part of a two-course sequence in Literary Chinese (Classical Chinese). Literary Chinese is a language that was used throughout Chinese history for all formal writing until the first half of the 20th century. Introduces basic grammar and vocabulary through reading texts from the Spring and Autumn period and Warring States period (ca. 770-256 BCE). Conducted in English. Texts are in Chinese.
