Catalog description

Covers the theory and practical applications of fracture mechanics. Discusses both the fundamental and theoretical in the first few lectures where the behavior of brittle structures follows linearly elastic fracture mechanics concepts. As the course progresses, gets more into the state of the art, specifically in the analysis and design of structures, as well as fracture behavior across multiple material scales.
