Agent-based modeling is a method to study the macro-level consequences of micro-level interactions of agents representing individuals, households, firms or other type of actors. Agent-based modeling is used to study the dynamics of complex adaptive systems across different domain areas. Covers the basics of agent-based modeling including programming computer simulations and how this method is used to study complex adaptive systems in different application areas. Examines the method for scientific research, especially the various ways of doing model analysis. Students perform individual assignments.
