Catalog description

Provides foundational knowledge on research methods in counseling and psychology and covers both theory and practice of research. Encompasses fundamental concepts of scientific research including measurement, sampling, reliability, validity, ethical guidelines, design and analysis, among others. Also provides hands-on experience on the research process by conducting a research study that utilizes the theory and skills learned. Involves writing an empirical research paper, following guidelines delineated by the American Psychological Association (APA).
