This primarily field course challenges preconceptions and received wisdom. Visit and discuss a variety of sites within about one hour's drive of ASU Tempe. These sites range from apparently relict desert mountain parks to effluent-dominated wetlands, active agricultural fields, newer and older commercial and residential areas, recreational ponds and (presently) abandoned vacant lots.
