Students learn basic principles of ethnographic research and obtain a better understanding of the social, ecological, cultural, political and economic processes affecting people in Mexico and in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. Through case studies, students become aware of the variety of issues shaping the lives of those living in these regions. Focuses on contemporary issues such as migration, economy, gender, labor, health and the environment.
