Catalog description
Critical examination of citizenship, national belonging and identities by examining contemporary social issues and discourses from global and comparative perspectives. Aims to understand complexities of national belonging that go beyond legal, formal citizenship, such as how cultural, racial/ethnic, class and gender differences challenge the limits of national citizenship. Explores case studies that show how members of different societies demonstrate their positions as legitimate national citizens in different and often conflicting ways, especially in order to defend social justice and human diversity.
