Cross-Practice Critique

Catalog description

Engages graduate students in deep, sustained critical discussion about artwork made by students in the class. Students investigate together the process(es) of critiquing artwork and consider and discuss the underlying assumptions and values they bring to this method of communication and pedagogy. Helps students develop and improve their critical voice at whatever level they are at, including the ability to receive and accept critical feedback of their work. Encourages students to hone their sense of personal agency in the context of 'the crit.'
