Catalog description

Thorough and directed course for the professional preparation of sculptors. Requires participation in all aspects of the foundry process, including serving on both a casting and foundry process maintenance team. Provides a history of the use of cast metal in the visual arts and an understanding of how casting processes can be applied to contemporary sculptural concepts. Requires participation in special projects such as exhibitions, iron casting, and field trips to local foundries as the semester course schedule dictates.
