Catalog description

Through practical shooting assignments, readings, lectures and critiques, students learn about expressing ideas through photographs that are constructed for the camera. Students create works that question and are contextualized in historical and contemporary art. Ranging from the traditional genre of still life, early composited photographs, posed portraits, glitch art, to straight photography, emphasizing composing and manipulating subject matter to create an image rather than photographing the subject as is. Introduces Photoshop for basic edits and digital compositing.
